Oram

Oram is the home of the Adventures in Oram series of novels featuring the Solitary Comrades: Qat, Qrodin, Llani, Akin, Bell, and Kasaandra. It’s also full of magic and fantastic creatures.

Creatures

There are as many creatures on Oram as there are on Earth, but they’re not all the same. They’re split into a few main categories: Keathra, Umanid, and all the rest. Not much is known of the Keathra, for they have nearly all been eliminated, but the Umanids are the “People of Oram.” They come in all shapes and sizes, but they do have one thing in common: they can speak Oramische, the language of Oram. The remaining creatures are usually just referred to as monsters or creatures or animals, though there are many different categories.

People

You may have heard of elves and dwarfs, but you probably don’t know what an ukulu is, nor a hablis or abandi. And I doubt you’ve ever heard of a danaash, but they’re as close to human as you can find on Oram.

Countries

Oram has two continents. The smaller of the two is Alulim. More on it later. The larger continent, Kish, has ten countries: Alalngar, Dumuzid, Ubarra, Babum, Zedana, Kudurru, Jushur, Puannum, Lagash, and Uruk.

Oram’s Birth

Oram is a planet born to Qie and Veri, along with Xree, Vea, and their moons. The three planets chose to remain with their half-sister, the star Leha–shining daughter of Veri and Taj. Likewise, three of Oram’s younger siblings adored him so much, they chose to stay with him always; his three moons: Kuu, Isa, and Uman. Kuu is the silvery Moon Goddess of Love. Her sweet disposition never wavers—unlike the other two whose colors change according to their mood. Isa is the Moon Deity of Cunning and shifts from blue to green while Uman, the Moon God of War, varies from pink to blood red.

Oram was so wise, they all called him the God of Wisdom, and Leha became known as the Goddess of Creation after her father gave her the ability to impart the spark of life into the creatures on Oram. Of course, no one really remembers any of that.
